Aimed at commercialising a new generation of farmers, this project focuses on larger tunnels (0.3 to 0.5 hectares) that enable multi-cropping throughout the year. With a cost of R400,000, these tunnels generate more than R600,000 per year for the farmers. In addition, they help introduce high-value crops, contributing to the overall economic success of the farmers. To ensure successful implementation, these tunnels will be linked to off-take agreements through the PackShed, and close training and development must be provided to manage pests and diseases.
