UCG is the chosen strategic partner of IDH – The Sustainable Trade Initiative, the Pan-European social development “trade not aid” foundation. This organisation brings four fund categories to develop food based localisation and supply chains. This acts as a catalyst for financial blended funding solutions, which is de-risked through a €100m fund and a second $250m fund. This allows any local stakeholder, be they a financial institution, government or financial lender a near-zero risk on any developmental funding in the food supply chain. The UCG-IDH South African Food Transformation Alliance is committed to reducing the USD-based imports by investing in local supply chains and saving the South African economy R20bn by 2030.
At U Can Grow we are committed to these four pillars:
Respect for biodiversity, Reducing waste, Supporting our producers and Empowering women.
We believe that in order for us to show success we need to see those who work with us succeed.
We believe that in order to nourish those around us we need to be respecting the biodiversity of our beautiful planet, in striving to do so we are committed to reduce wastage on all of our projects.
U Can Grow is committed to supporting the team members who have joined the UCG family with a dream to create for themselves and their families an intergenerational livelihood and a path out of poverty.
We recognize the importance of women in society and in doing so champion the rights of women to grow, succeed and be the leaders that our societies need.
