The objective of the Starter Farmer with a Tunnel program is to provide families and small farmers with the tools and resources they need to succeed in intensive farming. With a tunnel equipped with healthy soils, seeds, seedlings, and a water tank, farmers will be able to extend their growing season and increase their income by selling their produce through the local PackShed. In order to ensure the program’s success, it is essential that the PackShed be fully functional, registered on the UCanGrow App, and have secured off-take agreements. By providing farmers with a comprehensive and supportive environment, the Starter Farmer with a Tunnel program will empower them to achieve a sustainable and profitable livelihood.

The Starter Farmer with a Tunnel Project can follows this phased approach to benefit local micro farmers in the future:
Phase 1: Awareness and Education – The project will start by educating local micro farmers on the benefits of intensive farming in a tunnel, such as longer growing periods, improved soil health, and increased crop yields.
Phase 2: Set-Up and Implementation – The project will provide support to micro farmers in setting up their farming tunnels, including providing resources such as seeds, seedlings, water tanks, and technical assistance.
Phase 3: Monitoring and Evaluation – Regular monitoring and evaluation of the farming tunnels will help ensure their success and address any challenges that may arise.
Phase 4: Expansion and Scaling – Once the farming tunnels have been successfully implemented and evaluated, the project can be scaled to reach more micro farmers and communities, creating a larger impact and generating additional income for the farmers. 
Phase 5: Sustainability and Continuity – The project will also focus on ensuring sustainability and continuity by providing ongoing support, training, and resources to the micro farmers and their tunnels.
