For glass recycling, the Alchemy level involves providing waste pick-up solutions and glass collection bags for households to separate their waste. The enterprise could then transport the collected glass waste to a recycling facility.
The second level is the “Starter Pack” enterprise, which is self-subsidised and includes equipment to create secondary products from collected glass waste. For example, the enterprise could create glass beads, jewellery, or vases from the glass waste.
The third level is the “Micro Franchise,” which is a business box that costs R49 950. This level includes resources to manufacture secondary products on a micro scale, such as creating more complex glass products like decorative glass glassware such as chandeliers.
Lastly, the “Boza” level is the macro, commercial enterprise that can cost up to R250 000+. At this level, the enterprise could expand its operation to include more complex machinery and equipment to process and create glass products on a larger scale, such as a factory to produce glass bottles, jars, bricks and other commercial products.
